Safer Internet Day 2026
Donemana Primary School celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 10th February.
Safer Internet Day is the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety. Each year schools cover an online issue or theme that speaks about the things children are seeing and experiencing online.
This year’s learning was based around the theme of ‘Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’.
Everyone’s talking about AI, and with many children and young people hearing about and using AI online, it’s important they have the skills and confidence to make safe choices when they are using smart technology.
This Safer Internet Day we explored the impact of AI on all of our lives, looked at how AI can be used for good, and gave advice and guidance that empowers pupils to use AI safely and responsibly.
Every class in school participated in a wide range of lessons based on this year’s topic as well as other Internet related safety issues.
It was a very successful day. Well done to all our amazing pupils.
