P2/3 Create Fantastic “Fantasy Houses” Through Junk Modelling!

As part of our Houses and Homes topic, P2/3 have been busy designing and creating their very own “Fantasy Houses” using junk modelling materials. Using only recycled boxes, tubes, pots and packaging, the children imagined the wildest and most wonderful homes—complete with swimming pools, rollercoasters, rooftop gardens and even pet giraffes!

We had great fun:

• brainstorming our ideas
• choosing the best materials for each part
• problem solving how to attach pieces securely
• decorating our finished models with paint, paper, and lots of creativity

After our models were complete, we used Just2Easy Write on the iPads to create a written piece about our fantasy houses. The children described their imaginative creations using full sentences, wow words and plenty of creativity.
