This year we are again participating in the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal and we are hoping to collect 73 shoeboxes which is 1 per family and per staff member.
These shoeboxes will be delivered to children in Serbia based on need. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children and from watching some of the DVD footage it can be said that these children really need and love the shoeboxes they receive.
The leaflet that was sent home in October explained all about the project which we feel is extremely worthwhile as a charity to support and as a learning opportunity for our children. Our children learn how little some children receive at Christmas yet how greatful they are for these gifts. Our children can also help with shopping for the gifts, budgeting for the shoebox and wrapping the box.
We have collected 15 shoeboxes so far and really hope to see this increase greatly and get much closer to our target number.
