Magic in the Making

11th Apr 2021

If you go down to the woods today . . . well it's not bears you'll see but glorious fairy gardens dotted about and hidden among the trees.  These were created by our P2/3 children to decorate our creative outdoor learning space and they definitely add a feeling of mystery and wonder to the area.

Have a look at the video underneath the photos below to see our happy children working and creating together.  P2/3 were given the challenge of creating Fairy gardens by Mrs Hay and were very excited to get stuck into the planning and making.  During the course of our week the children learned about different types of fairy, voted for their favourite, created a bar chart with the results and were able to answer data handling questions using the information depicted on the graph.  They heard different stories about fairies and created their very own magic wands to grand kind deeds with. They also did their Eco bit by recycling used plastic bottles and turning them into beautiful coloured flowers to add to our Fairy Garden space

The making of the fairy gardens was the cherry on the cake and as you'll see the children came up with some amazing ideas and spent a lot of time trying to get everything just right.  Mrs Connor was very proud of how her class all worked together within their teams as they remembered to share, take turns and make everyone feel included.

We hope you enjoy the results.
