Late Club Cookery Thursdays

27th Jan 2020

Christmas and the new year seems so far away now with all the choices of food and treats that were on offer. In our first week back in late club we decided to make good old pancakes, (scotch pancakes or dropped scones) they are also known as. The children loved making these but especially eating them. We gave them a little twist by adding some chocolate chips, yum! It was a first time for some breaking the eggs which was quite funny to see; but I’m sure with plenty of practise they will perfect this in no time.

Spaghetti Bolognese was another favourite and we just had to add a little bit of garlic bread with a sprinkle of grated cheese. The children were surprised to see just how quick you can cook up something so tasty. As you can see from the pictures, the children thoroughly enjoyed sampling the end product.

Another sweet treat was on the menu Eaton Mess, this quick, no fuss, no cook dessert amazed some of the children while other children were familiar with the dish and helped to give the instructions. We used an electric mixer to prepare the cream so the children understood that the mixer allowed air into it, this made it almost double in volume. Of course tasting the Eaton Mess was the best part.

This Thursday we hope to be making HOTDOGS!!!  Keep watching.
