Core Crusaders!

18th Nov 2019

P2/3 have been running, balancing, rolling and stretching in P.E. recently in order to strengthen their core muscles.

Why is a strong core important?

Well, the core is the torso muscles that stabilize and move the main trunk of the body. Weak core strength can cause poor posture which can also affect how your child moves, carries things, runs and even affects small movements such as page turning, buttoning coats and cutting with scissors! It's important to build strong core strength as it's like building a strong foundation for your child.

If you're looking for ideas on what your child could do to increase their core strength this website has some very useful ideas.

As you can see from our photos building core strength is not a chore - the P2/3 children really enjoyed their exercises.
