Amazing Adjectives!

30th Jan 2020

Wonderful, clever, hard working, little superstars!  These are the adjectives I'd use for P2/3 this week for their super work on adjectives!

Inspiration hit during a Musical Pathways lesson when the class were singing about Jack Frost.  We decided to paint this nimble sprite and created a list of words to describe him.  The class then discovered that these describing words were called adjectives!  We split into small groups for some active learning.  The groups had a look around the classroom to discover an object they could describe using adjectives.  As you can see from the pictures they loved working as a team and were determined that no other group would see their object!  The groups then read out their list of adjectives and the remaining children had to guess the object.  Some adjectives were SO great that we were able to guess the object straight away!

Primary Three extended our adjective work a little further by creating WANTED posters to describe some of the teachers.  They really enjoyed this task especially as it meant extra computer time instead of writing!  The final posters were put up on display and the other classes were invited to read the adjectives and guess who was being described. This has been a popular game and we've had to put up extra guessing pages already!

It's been a great week for adjectives and lots of house points will be awarded to those children who now remember to use them in their writing.  Good luck P2/3!
