Classes Mrs McCuster
Friendship jigsaw
Mrs McCusker's class have been working very hard to a make friendship jigsaw. In PDMU (Personal Development and Mutual Understanding) we have been thinking about how important we all are as people and that we all have special talents unique to us.
Each child made a jigsaw piece out of paper mache with their face on it. They had to paint their faces and add paper hair to make them look realistic.
These pieces all fit together and show us that even though we are all very different people and we are all important in our own right.....
..........we can all come together to help each other and support each other.
A very important lesson for anyone to learn - no matter what their age!!
We have been working hard!!
P4/5 have been looking at holiday destinations this term. They asked all the children in the school where they went for their favourite holiday.
Then we made bar charts with the information and plotted the holidays on a map of Europe by colouring in all the countries we had visited.
We had alot of hard work to do and it was a real succcess because we co operated and helped each other.
Well done class!!
P5 are working on the Revised Curriculum this year.
We have been working very hard in groups in lots of subjects and helping each other.
Here we are in our groups. Do you like the photos?
Can you guess where Mrs McCusker was when she took these?
P4/5 have been reading The BFG as a class novel.
We have worked together to make ENORMOUS paintings of some of the main characters.
We think they look fab (and a bit scary!) Tell us what you think!
P4/5 are beginning to study Charlotte's Web by EB White as a new class novel for the summer term.
We have read the first few chapters and are already getting to like Wilbur, the little pig!
We are making paper mache Wilburs as our next big art project and we have got as far as adding the legs and the snout.
We still have to put on the ears and paint him - so we will be busy after Easter.
Wait and see how
he turns out!!
P4/5 are at it again. We have finished off our Viking topic with a great art activity.
We used new clay to make Viking jewellery. Everyone worked very hard and look at our results!!
We also used special metallic paint to give our art a more authentic look.
The boys made axe heads and Thor's hammer good luck charms which all viking would have worn.
The girls made wonderful brooches and beads which Viking women worn pinned to the shoulders of their tunics and dresses.
I think they look fantastic!!
Well done everyone!!
Hello from Mrs McCusker!! This is the first news story about my class so I hope that there will be many comments coming our way!
P4/5 have been studying the Vikings and electrical circuits for the past few weeks so I decided to set them a challenge to see what they could remember! They were asked to ...
Design a Viking longship with a light that could go on and off.
The EXCITEMENT had begun. They quickly got into groups and designed their ships before they made the models.
We have had some fantastic results so far and I will post a picture of our completed Viking fleet as soon as they are ready.
Keep working P4/5!
