Friendly way to start the season...
The School cricket team took the field at The Nedd today in a friendly match arranged with Ballykelly Primary School. Whilst the game was the first that Ballykelly had played in quite a while, their enthusiasm and chirpiness proved little comfort when faced with the opening pair of Joe Robinson (Captain) and William McClintock. Both players sportingly retired upon reaching their 50's, whilst brother Gary chipped in with a rapid 39 before becoming a first of two victims of Alex, a promising looking young Ballykelly bowler. The team posted an impressive 187 off their twenty overs for the loss of just a handful of wickets. Ballykelly had little experience or technique to offer in their time at the wicket-but all 15 players did get the chance to bat! For Donemana, the wickets were spread around most of the bowlers, with the highlights being Billy Dougherty getting a wicket with his first ever ball for the school, and Dylan McDonald picking up two wickets in two balls............and Kylo adding about an extra 20mph to his bowling speed from last year!
